Welcome to Charissa Allan Photography. I am a nature and travel photographer, living in Central Queensland, Australia.
So, who is Charissa Allan?
To be honest, my story isn’t much different from anyone else. I am a partner to a pretty awesome kind of guy, and the feeder of four cats and three dogs (don’t worry, only three cats and two dogs live with me – my dad refuses to give the other two back). Yes, I am a crazy animal lady, complete with crazy cat glitter (cat hair).
I grew in the Illawarra Region, South of Sydney, New South Wales. I now live in a small, country town in Central Queensland and love the lack of hustle and bustle that comes with it. I am an Environmental Scientist, who has a love of art, science and the outdoors, yet can’t keep plants alive (maybe, with the exception of succulents). I have relocated to many times since finishing high school (three states, at least 20 different post codes) and get itchy feet if I have lived somewhere for 2 years or more.
About 4 years ago, my awesome partner (Adam) purchased a Nikon D5500 DSLR camera. This gave me the inspiration to photograph my many adventures and the animals I had the opportunity to encounter. So, after much encouragement from followers, I have decided to start documenting my adventures and photography learnings in this blog.
